Sometimes, when I think about my life’s journey, I am reminded of moments that seemed so dire that I struggle to remember what exactly happened. There are people that I stopped talking to years ago, and when we meet, my mind is conscious to the fact that we don’t speak, but I can’t for the life of me remember why. I laugh, not because I think it may have been a petty reason, but because time shows how insignificant most things are. I have learnt not to be reactive in the eye of the storm. I remind myself that two weeks from today, it won’t matter as much as it does now. Above all, I remember Sarah’s question, “Who the heck is José?”
